Radiated Eye

The eye on my radiated tortoise looks a little strange. It started i think when they were in one pen outside for 2 days with my ploughshare. The ploughshare had some eye issues. Its a bit bulgy. They are not back in their separate terrariums.

Sorry to hear about the eye problems , but a GREAT reminder why you should never keep different species together, and most importantly with other multi animal set ups, if problems are noticed ~*Immediately * separate sick animal and quarantine/ treat as necessary. Hope you remedy the problem and wishing well on your exotic torts.

I think the ploughshares might have infected the radiated. Were you able to find any eye ointments to treat them? Make sure you keep the sick ones quarantined.

Could it be possible that it was too dry outside? They were only together for half a day. It was REALLY hot and dry.

usally they will " TEAR UP" ( looks as though they have been crying) ....when kept too dry ~

my tort had a problem in her eye once , it was red and Swollen .
it was because some sort of a bacteria , and the vet told me to put some "terramicene" on it "it is a eye cream for humans" and to wash their eye with onion juice . it really worked , and it became healthy once again

Thanks, i might try that, its getting better, I'm using turtle eye drop by zoomed...is that ok?
