So at first, I was only going to order some meal Worms for the short term. But it was easy to get 500 - 1000 of the little guys. So I looked up how to reproduce them, and it seems pretty easy!
I like bugs. So I'm not sure if this kind of thing would be for everybody.... I will have no problems with digging around in semi stinky substrate to remove dead worms, or the little pupei (sp?)
Breeding a little colony of her own meal worms for Artemis's tortoise room sounds like too much fun to me! Anybody do anything like this for their babies? Any other feeder insects?
Admittedly when I was a teen, I worked at an exotic pet store and helped with feeder insects on a large scale.

I breed crickets for my lizards and while easy it was smelly business so I switched to roaches. Much cleaner and Dubias are actually fun to watch. The exoskeletons of mealies were a no no for my guys but I’d totally give it a shot if my RF would eat them.

On a side note it’s rainy today so thinking of giving him his first worm!
