Are torts in general smart animals? Do they know when things (smells, tastes, other animals) are bad for them? Do they learn from repetition? I'm trying to think of more examples and cant, hopefully some of you get the gist of my question.
In the sense that know where the warmest places are and that they can usually tell poisonous from non poisonous, they are smart.
When it comes to the shell fittig through a hole that the head fits through, or a fixation on red circles - even those printed on newspaper - in the cherry season... they are thick as two short planks.
They have the smartness esential for survival in the wild which is why they have been round since the dinosaurs. They are never going to equal other species in IQ and problem solving
