I made this night box out of an old shipping box . I got the box from a shipping and receiving company for free . Then I made inside walls out of 2/2 and plywood made a top and $40.00 later I have a nice little box . So for you guys that have time but no cash to spend here's a cheap way of building a night box like Tom's on the cheap .

One of my customers is shipping/receiving. I bet I could get my hands on a few boxes if you need more Mike.

I love when folks find ways to recycle items for their tortoises! :)

Very cool! I'm a big "upcycler". I made my enclosures out shipping crates. They each cost me a 12 pack. ;)

Awesome! Thats a nice shipping box .
Thanks, Mike! Hubby got one of his labourers to cut the top halves off of both crates, since they were so deep. Then I silicones the joints and coated the insides with VOC-free sealant. This summer, we built a frame to lift the 2 enclosures off the floor. The frame is also made from upcycled, pressure-treated wood from a heavy duty pallet. :)

Sweet! I like to use junk and make it look good. I painted my box today . Tomorrow i'm moving it into my shed . Then building a run in front of it . So when winter hits Dozer will be safe and warm . I'm building him a new run outside the shed thats 60 foot by twenty foot so next summer he should have plenty of space and grass to eat .
