Hello everyone I'm new to the tortise community I have only but lurked the forum but I have a red foot tortoise as of tonight everything was well until getting home from a work meeting, she managed to escape her enclosure and fell from a height between 4-5 ft I have checked her shell there's no visible signs of damage. Unfortunately due to the time here I cannot get her into a vet until tomorrow morning. As of right now I am just asking for advice on what to do till I can get her checked up.

Possibly wrong thread of so I apologize just worried and didn't know where to post

Greetings. Sorry to hear of the incident. I wouldn’t rush it right off to the vet UNLESS you see obvious signs of severe trauma. Is your RF moving about? Head out, feet moving, bright eyes? Eating. I would let your tort settle back into it’s quarters - but really examine where/how it got out & fell & today I would get that exit fixed. Save the vet money for upgrades/improvements to the enclosure.

good luck 👍

I agree
Is there any blood or any visible injury?
Is the tortoise acting normally?

Of course you'll also need to secure that enclosure better or put it on ground level

Hi Bob, and welcome!

Your tortoise probably didn't suffer any damage from falling. He'll be scared for a day or two, but will get back to normal once he realizes he's safe. Please make sure he can't escape his enclosure again.
