Is a 3.7 inch shell length and a 2 inch wide shell a good size for a 6 month old Red Foot?

She or he looks pretty nice.
From the photo, it looks perfectly normal.
Get yourself an inexpensive digital scale. Walmart has some for weighing food in the kitchen wares area.
Weigh him or her once a month and look for small weight gains. Between that and doing physical inspections it's a great way to determine health as the baby grows.
