I noticed his eyes were very watery when I got him. Since he’s been in this enclosure with proper humidity, his eyes looks so much better

I read on a ball python forum that it’s because the humidifier can harbor mold spores and bacteria which is then turned into fine mist that your pet is breathing in. It's probably an indication that most of the enclosure is too cool.As long as she likes to bask then it's fine to leave it. Most don't, some do.

Ultrasonic humidifiers, unless you use distilled water, leave nasty calcium dust. Wet substrate surface may cause shell fungus (redfoots are prone to it). And so on. Some types of humidifiers are safer than others (warm type). And you may use humidifier to raise ambient humidity in the room with open top enclosures, though.Why isn’t the humidifier not good?
