So I was working out in the Redfoot pen today digging out a new area for a water feature and inadvertently scooped up a shovel full of six eggs. I had no idea they were there until I dropped the dirt and eggs rolled out. I candled them and they appear to be fertile. I can see veining and a darker area near the bottom. So the question is does the tortoise develop on the bottom of the egg or the top? Just wondering which side I should mark as up when I put them in the incubator. Not sure I have high hopes for them, but I'm certainly not gonna toss them out. Any wisdom out there for me?
