Hey it’s been a minute!
I had gotten my uvb meter/solarmeter a few weeks ago and checked on my redfoot enclosure. I noticed some areas were kinda low levels so I moved it closer to his enclosure and it’s now reading 3-4’s mostly and up to 5.4 I seen at its highest .
When I was reading it says they prefer levels 2-3.5 (not sure if this is accurate?) but just wanted to make sure I have updated information. N was wondering if these levels higher then 3.5 are dangerous? Or will it be fine.
What is the best UVB levels for redfoots ? I have a Arcadia 12% 24 W

You can use the Arcadia ligting guide as a starting point. You want a gradient, where your tortoise is able to control the amount of UVB by moving. There needs to be parts in the enclosure reading 0 even when the light is on.

Those levels are fine as long as you are only running the UV for a few hours mid day.

I like the set up at your RFs current size.
Curious. What are in those domes? Redfoot are especially irritated by harsh lights, like MVB and some flood lamps.
CHE would be your best bet....And excuse me if you already know this.

No worries at all !
Yes it’s just CHE for extra heat whenever it gets colder , the only lighting is the UVB and ambient lighting for plants and natural day cycle .
