Hi everyone,
We have a desert tortoise that we estimate to be at least 10 years old. We took her 4 years ago when her rescue family had to move. We are in Nevada and know she was born here. She is well domesticated coming in and out of the house, and she brumates inside over the winter. Additionally, while she will graze on our grass, her primary food spruce comes from us feeding her.

Now my question: we are considering a move back to the MW where the climate is definitely different. Cold winters and hot and humid summers. I cannot think of leaving her here as we have a unique and strange bond, though I do not want to harm her by taking her out of her environment. Can I artificially create it?
Thank you for any insight

It's against state regulations to remove desert tortoises from their home state. Actually, desert tortoises belong to the state.
