Respiratory infection

My cousin has a leopard tortoise hatchling that she just got from a friend. When it breaths it's like popping noises. I told her that it might Be a ri and that I would ask ull. If it is she doesn't have enough money to take it to the vet. Could she do Somethin at home to cure it?

The tortoise should have a regimen of antibiotics, but you can start by putting the tortoise into a small hospital tank - like a 10 gallon aquarium - and set the height of the light and emitter so that the interior of the aquarium is 85F degrees. Keep the substrate moist but not wet. Don't let the baby get any cooler that while he's in the humid environment.

If he doesn't see any improvement within a week, the baby needs to see a vet whether he can afford it or not. He can always ask if they'll take payments.
