Our Russian tortoise escaped into our back yard. It's a large property with a large wooded area. I am wondering if there is a way to lure her back or any way to find her?
A heat source? It's getting cold here- NY state.

I'd put out some colorful & nice smelling foods... Hibiscus flowers, banana, mango, papaya, etc.

Fingers crossed that he sees or smells it and comes looking.

Oh no, I hope she comes home soon, but I have read other posts where the tort showed up after months, even during hibernation. Fingers crossed.

Look for her in the morning (whenever it starts to get warm in your area). That’s the time when she’s most likely to be basking in the open and moving slow.

Tortoises are area specific and she may not have gone far or will circle back so start looking first at the areas she normally frequented before the escape.

Good luck!
