Was just wondering the percentage boudries for humidity and if my humidity is too low how do i bring it up and if my humidity is too high how do i lower it?
This is my tortoise enclosure right now the warm end is 32 degrees celcius with a humidity of 41% the cold end is 23 degrees celcius with a humidity of 72 this ik is way to high but im not sure how to bring it downI dont know a lot about Russians, but the most important thing about humidity control is how open an enclosure is, if your enclosure is too dry you can cover some of the openings with aluminium foil (Someone else suggested this to me and it worked wonders, though make sure your tortoise can come close and bite the foil xP) and if its too humid make you enclosure more open or pour/spray less water into it.
I am using a two in one hygrometer and thermometer and i believe the readings are accurate they are brand new which i bought only yesterdayThat is not too high for a baby. Make sure temps stay up. I keep babies above 73F. How are you measuring humidity? Your enclosure looks open and a bit dry. I am wondering if your readings are accurate.
Digital, or one of the disk things?I am using a two in one hygrometer and thermometer and i believe the readings are accurate they are brand new which i bought only yesterday

I managed to get the basking temp to 36C which is about 79F is this fine?Ok then I would say humidity is fine, but temps might be a bit low. The basking area should be close to 100F.
Sorry i meant 97FI managed to get the basking temp to 36C which is about 79F is this fine?
Thanks we didnt talk about how young russian tortoise act though lol but im glad for the advice i got the temperature up to 35CAs we talked about on your other thread, getting your temps up will help. They sleep a lot though.
I've had my RT for a week now the first few days he was very active and would run around these past 2 days all he does is eat and sleep, is this what they usually do in the wild or is something wrong with him?
Did not mean that the way it sounded. Anyone else coming along was going to ask what your temps are. After the settle in period, cold temps are almost always to blame for inactive and not eating. Thanks we didnt talk about how young russian tortoise act though lol but im glad for the advice i got the temperature up to 35C
