young Russian tortoise around 1 year old. Always digs a hole in roughly the same spot and goes to sleep after only being awake for about 4 hours. What could be causing this? His diet is good, the temperatures of his basking area is around 35 Celsius and the cooler area is around 21-23 degrees. He has an Arcadia uvb strip bulb and the humidity is around 70%. I’ve had him several months and at first I assumed it was because he was so young that he didn’t stay up that long, but now that he’s older I’m starting to get worried. It’s around 10:45 am and he’s already dug a hole to go sleep. He would have only woken up around 6:30am. I fed him and gave him a bath. What could be causing this? I hate to think that something I’m doing or not doing is effecting the health of my tortoise

It’s good that he’s eating regularly, would you say his poop looks normal? Do you track his weight?
He’s always hungry. His poop looks fine and he’s been steadily gaining weight since I got him. Roughly gained around 15 grams in about 6 months

With all that in mind I honestly wouldn’t worry about his behaviour at this point, so long as he’s eating, growing and showing no other worrying symptoms, all is well🐢💚
