A while back, i actually tried a leaf of a weed in the yard.
I don't remember why. But anyways, remember that old saying "Three Leaves leave them be?" Check. If the end of the stem, there's 3 leaves, most likely its bad.

Google for a picture of a plant called "gill over the ground" and see if that matches the more predominate plant in the photo. (It looks like that and gets purple flowers, unfortunately- it's also hard to get rid of)
In the center of the photo, you have a smaller-leaved plant which may be purselane (more succulent), or perhaps spurge (more woody).
I can sometimes help I.d. plants, but since I'm a newer tort owner, I'd rather not guess on the safety for torts. (I use the tortoise table site to help me usually decide)
