Hi all, I have a 12year old Mediterranean spur thighed tortoise and this week I have notice a sap like resin weeping slightly from three scoots on his Carapace.
I have googled this and cannot find anything relevant. He is eating well and I've bathed him a few times but it's still happening and I wondered if anyone on here had come accross this phenomenum previusly and may be able to offer some advice. There has not been any injury or impact to his shell!
Thanks in advance, Colinsdad.

Have you seen anything like this? @zovick
I think Yvonne is correct. IE blood serum is leaking out of those seam areas for some reason.

@colinsdad It would seem that something like this would most likely stem from an injury of some kind. Was this tortoise dropped by any chance? Or could something heavy have fallen on it? Is it still acting and feeding normally, etc.?
