I just bought a regular food scale. Grams AND ounces is good.

1 gram.
Then 0.5, .25, .50, .75 ounces. It goes up to 16 ounces. Soon I'll need a bigger one!

I found a few on amazon that go up to 11 lbs but measure in 1 gram increments as well as kg, oz, and lb.

This is what I used when my sulcata was a baby. Once they are about 8 to 10 pounds the bathroom scale usually is okay for weighing them. I do agree with JD that the Ohaus triple beam is the gold standard of scales.

I bought mine (my Sister got it for my bithday actually) at a weight watchers meeting. I can weigh my babies and then the scale tells me haw many calories are in the chicken breast I am going to cook for dinner! It is a win win as long as I put the babies (and the chicken breast, lol) in a bowl first. Don't want any tortle pee on my scale you know. Plus those little suckers will run right off the side as you are writing down their weights!

I paid $18 for this digital food scale at WalMart. It measures in grams, oz, kg and lbs.
I like the product and the price :D

Notice how the baby fits in a tupperware on the plate just fine..

A 5" barely fits...

And the 7" one has to balance on the tupperware upside down to fit. Lol...

Not to rain on the parade....but depending on how *accurate* you really want to be if that's your concern , digital scales at most big box stores are way off in calibration needed for precise weight analysis.
Although with these scales a really fast cheap trick to see how "true" it measures, is to weigh any US paper currency ...it will mark out at 1 gram.

Ok JD, I'll test it!

I've use this same scale for each "weight day". So even if it is slightly off, at least it would always be the same amount of slightly off and I could still track their progress ;)

Stay tuned for test results! Gotta find a dollar lol.

It depends on what you need in that scale. When i buy scale i need maximum accuracy that i can get and long life battery that help me for long time. And these are the two things that mostly people want in their scales.

Must be counterfeit ....:p:D:p
Perfect example of what I was stating earlier......and Kuddos to you Heather for taking the time and trying it out. I will promise you on an accurate "precise" scale (such as a triple beam) your cash of any denomination will weigh out at 1 gram each.
A fast easy check at the gram level........

Most of the people look for accuracy and price of that scale. Because some people prefer scale that have more accuracy and some prefer scale with low price even it don't have much accuracy.
