Scary moment but could have been worse

Found my baby leopard upside down in his waterbowl. He never flipped before. Luckily I had a terra cotta. If I hadn't he probably would have drowned before I found him. His head would have been underwater for sure.
So just another reminder to stay away from the death trap water bowls. This could have ended in tragedy rather then a quick heart palpitation.

I also use a terra cotta saucer. But I put a small stone in it just in case. Glad you caught him before anything happened.

Same thing happened to mine about 3 months ago - came home for lunch to check on them like I always do, and there he was laying on his back. Scared me to death. Like yourself, I also have a terra cotta - probably saved his life.

Yep. Same here. Found my busy body Freckles, upside down in her terra cotta water dish. Freaked me completely out! I'm so glad I read all the warnings here about other reptile dishes and stayed away from them.
