So I will be picking up that super awesome animal plastics T25 tomorrow and I was wondering something. I was gonna divide it and use half for my star and the other half for the two Greeks. They are all small hatchlings. They would be divided and not have contact. But I got to thinking that maybe I'd just use it for the star as it ultimately would likely need to be indoors a bit more than the Greeks. My question is 6 feet by 3 feet is ok for the little guy huh? I'd of course make great use of that much room and am confident I could offer an enclosure that would be interesting to the little one. I thought I read somewhere not to go to big for the little guys. Or I could just do ide it for awhile and eventually open the second side up to Sammy. That's the star lol.

That size enclosure would be good for a hatchling. I have never heard of an enclosure being to big, even for a hatchling. Unless of course it was a giant yard that they could get easily lost in.

Thanks. I didn't figure it could be too big as the little guy is always all over the place. I would love to get another of these cages for my baby Greeks. I'll get pics up as I get it put together! Thanks again.

Stars and greeks have very different temperature and humidity requirements. The stars need it hot, humid and tropical, like a monsoon season. The greeks are a temperate species. They need cooler temps all around, only moderate humidity, and they need a drop in night temps that the star should not experience.

I would also not house the greeks as a pair. This leads to disaster more often than not.

I would use one enclosure for the star and set it up to be warm/hot and humid. That size will last for years with an Indian star. Then buy a second one, divide the second one in half, and give each greek baby half of the 6x3'. If as adults your greeks live outside most of the time, then 3x3' would be a fine size to bring them inside to for inclement weather, so this enclosure could rally last you a long time for them too.

The Greeks are only both right around 22 grams still. Should I go ahead and split them up or could I wait awhile until they got to be just a bit bigger?

I would separate them right away. They don't like to be in pairs. One will assume the dominant role and the subordinate will suffer for it. The dominant one will be dropping major tortoise body language telling the other one to "GET OUT!", but the other one won't be able to escape the confines of its enclosure. Not a good situation for either. Groups of three or more can usually get a long, but pairs are just too personal.

Ok. I'll get something figured out asap. Now for this situation I could use just one enclosure cut in half as lo g as they can't get to one another right. I mean just constructing a chamber and running a divider in it with both having their own mvb and all that.

Tom do you have any links for how to build a decent chamber out of wood for a fair cost?
