Soo.... I am going to shamelessly advertise here because I, as well as many others, am that desperate. 
I am a foster coordinator for a breed specific rescue in Nebraska. This is the time of year when a lot of fosters stop fostering seasonally, for the holidays or weather, etc. This is also the time when we start getting a TON of intake requests for some reason or another.
Please please PLEASE, if you can foster a dog, even if it's only one and for a little while, contact a rescue in your area and volunteer. If you want to foster a specific breed, I can almost guarantee there is a rescue for that breed within easy driving distance to you.
