Hello again 😂

So now Sheldon is feeling better he’s doing lots of exploring and playing and CLIMBING. Which wouldn’t be a problem until I caught him climbing up the stem of a plant and hanging on to the top of the tortoise table 😂😂 so I need some ideas on how to prevent my escape artist from escaping 😂 I’ve moved anything that was near the corners so he can’t climb up them but any ideas on how to put a lid on the top or something.

We are only using the tortoise table as a temporary measure before we get something more sturdy when we move house in the next few months so any ideas also on indoor tortoise enclosures that are sturdy and secure while looking nice to the eye 😂

For everyone who’s probably about to tell me they need to be outside all the time in the north of the uk that is just not possible he will be going out in the odd heatwaves we get and will be getting something set up for him when we have moved but I’m hoping to get something I can open the doors for inside and he can come and go as he pleases when we move? If anyone has any ideas

But for now I just need help so he doesn’t get out the bloody tortoise table

Thank you always ❤️🐢

I've seen some do "lips" out of wooden planks so the enclosure wall looks like Γ
Not a 100% escape-proof, but an easy trick.

P.S. Typed for too long. Tom posted first :)

Oh Sheldon look at you go😂❤️ hopefully the ‘lip’ idea might do the trick for your little climber here🥲
Did you go ahead and order a greenhouse topper? I think I recall it was recommended in your first thread to help with your humidity but I’m not sure if you were planning on adding it? being so young still means he needs it higher, but this could also maybe help the escape situation here too, in that he will at least hopefully not make it outside of the cover if the frame is secured on😅🤞🏻

I don’t have any ideas for you, just wanted to say 1. Glad you caught before he managed to fall, 2. He’s a cutie and 3. Holy Cow! Impressive climbing!👏
Best of luck with corralling him!😂
Haha aw thank you! 🙏 he’s turned into a right character but I’ve always said you have to be crazy to live in my house 😂😂

Hi yes I do have a lip on one of the sides but I’ll be putting lips round the rest I think! Hopefully will prevent any further escapes until we move and he can get his permanent abode which will be completely escape through!! Just trying to find something that looks nice as well as suitable haha!

I’ve not had a greenhouse topper as the humidity is still reading around 75% he has a humid hide soaks daily and loves to drink out of his water bowl he’s always there so I’ve not felt the need for it. ❤️
