Shell color change

So my husband and I have noticed that Tank has darkened up a little. Is this normal? When we first git him he was a little ashy and little colored. Now he has darkened up. I hope this is good news. Any feedback will be appreciated. Below are a before when we first got him a few weeks back and the 2nd one is a today pic.

Hatchlings quickly get suntanned as well as stained by their substrate. He looks okay to me.

He looks perfectly healthy. I think he is just getting older. My little girl tort Lily is really dark now also...
