What can I use to make my tortoises shell more shiny? Could I use coconut oil? I still love my little guy without an extremely shiny shell, but I want him to be as healthy as possible! My mom suggested that I pop open a vitamin E (one that humans swallow- a pill) and rub that on his shell but I'm not sure if that is safe, what do you think?

I don't think putting anything on the shell is beneficial for anything other than cosmetics.

those type of things I believe are zero sum Items. Neither helping nor hurting just something you spend your money on.

It's not necessary. And I wouldn't put the oil on it and leave it there, wipe it off. Just curious, why do you want it to be shiny? For looks?

Well I would like him to look shiny but hey, he is a tortoise. Not a model. I've seen other russian tortoises with really pretty shells and Simeon's is just not so pretty. I was just wondering but other than that I don't really care.
