Hello! So I've had Doug for just over a month now and hes been doing great, eating well, looking happy. A few weeks after I got him he started getting settled in and was always exploring his new home and was being very active, he had even started waking up when his lamp tunred on in the morning. But latley (a couple weeks now) he's been waaaay less active. If I dont wake him up in the morning he will genrally sleep all day and unless I wake him up and put him by his food he wont always go and eat it, well not a lot. I was usued to coming home and hed eaten everything in sight, now just a few nibbles.

I had been struggling with humidity for a while but last night I finally solved that issue I think. Temp wise, basking spot is 95, and the rest of the enclosure is around 70-80. He is only a few months old so from what Iv'e read, it should be on the warm side. My humidity used to be all over the place but now it stays a pretty constant 80-85%. My only concern is that now that I have installed this new humidity gizmo, I've had to move the space heater I was using under the table hoping it would heat the plexi glass bottom and keep it warm in there. I didnt like having it blowing right on the surface because it blows such dry air and drys the place out like crazy.

Should I be concerned? Or do you think that the humidity change will make a diffrence? Thanks!

Here's some pictures of what i have going on....

I like using the clear plastic as a cover, however, I'm thinking that it may be a bit on the cool side under there. Have you read the temperature on that side of the habitat?

My Gilbert has been doing exactly what you've described. He used to alway wake himself up when his light comes on and would come out to eat and explore, but now he will stay sleeping for days if I let him. So I'm very curious to what others might say. I don't know where you live, but I'm from New Orleans and the weather has been super crazy. It was 30 one day and 75 the next. This weather going up and down so much has been throwing me off so I've assumed my little Gilbert has been confused too (even though his lights are keeping it warm enough).
