As a reminder I got him from a woman on Craigslist asking for tort help...She had bought 6 Sulcata hatchlings from some guy in a grocery store in Phoenix AZ...he is the smallest of the clutch but acted fine. He's been eating great and everything I put out for him, and pooping in the soak daily. He's been active...until now...he only takes a few bites of the food, didn't poop for 4 days...then in his soaking he pooped 3 large turds and a 'pile' of gritty urates. That was 2 days ago and his appetite left at the same time. So, of course, I have been in contact with Y I told her one thing is I think he's too hot...the temp stays 85 to 90, the humidity is 90%...back whenever I had Sulcata babies we didn't know then they needed humidity, so it bothers me that he is so damp...I am doing everything Y and I think will help...but here's a damn thought...I have no clue how the parking lot guy kept the new hatchlings and the lady that bought them had them on hay in an open topped container. So...here's a question...is he doomed no matter what I do? I also want to say...all you newbies need to see this happens to us experienced keepers too, and frankly I am just as afraid as a newbie
look at the photo he was already starting to pyramidDSCN3019.JPG

Lyns and I are praying for you and Sesame. Have you tried less humidity to see how he does?

Never give up. I'm sure your doing all the right things.
I personally would not keep temps higher than 80 day and night unless they are sick and then raise it to 85. That's how it's always been. Only recently did a certain someone start having baby sulcata and leopards at a constant 85 even 90.
You could try piedialyte in the soak water if you haven't yet.
Good luck keep us posted. Oh and maybe feed more romaine than normal to help with hydration.

Apparently I made a mistake. Thank you. I was thinking it wasn't use to such high humidity.
Probably not before Maggie got it, but I believe she's had him long enough now and it really doesn't make a difference that I have ever heard of, as far as putting one in proper humidity even if raised dry in its days with the breeder.

Have you tried giving him Benebac or Nutribac probiotics to restore his normal tummy condition? Maybe after that huge deposit he did, he needs it to get back his appetite?
