So as I'm sure most of u remember a couple months back my RT Shakespeare gave me quite the scare, until he got on meds for his lovely little friends the hook worms. He got better and I've been so grateful nothing else has seemed fishy since, until a few weeks ago when he practically stopped eating, had no interest in moving and no interest in drinking any water. This sudden change happened about a week after I took him outside a couple of days. Is he depressed or what? He has bright clear eyes, clear nostrils, normal shell and tail color, etc. If I didn't know any better I would say he was just fine, but I know Shakespeare and this is odd behavior for him. Thanks in advance. :)

he couls have eaten something outside, been exposed to something sprayed? or is now depressed inside since he loved being outside.
Build a secure area for him outside, and let him spend more time there.

I'm waiting patiently for it to be warm out so he can go back out. I already have an area set up and ready to go once it warms up again. (Mn weather is bipolar I swear) and I know he didn't eat anything because I watched him like a hawk and we don't use fertilizer or weed away stuff at all so that's not it either. (I let him out before his area was set up hence the close watch) I'm really just hoping he loved it that much but thought it never hurts to get a second opinion. :)

Something is off, if he suddenly stopped eating after going outside for a while. This is usually temps, or eating something toxic like Laura suggested.

So are you saying that he has not eaten for a few weeks? This would be odd for sure....also, torts do appear to long to be outdoors....:D

I thought i watched him close enough... :(
And no he hasn't stopped eating 100%. He eats but it's like a leaf a day. And yeah its been a couple weeks since that started. I haven't noticed him drinking but when I gave him a bath I did so at least he is staying hydrated. He also seems to be sleeping a lot. Is that bad?

My hermmans tortoise went just like yours, he had been out while the weather was warm and then stopped eating much, perhaps a leaf a day as you said your is.

Then he stopped eating altogether and i noticed he was making a clicking noise when he was breathing, this got worse after a couple of days and he was opening his mouth to breath.

I have taken him to the vets and he says he has a lower lung infection, and put him on antbiotics, he's been on them for three days now, am still waiting hoping he will make a recovery :(
