My 4 year old hermanns tortoise has been making a whistling sounds the last couple days. There are no signs of respiratory infection- eyes are clear, nostrils are clear. He is eating, drinking, bathing, pooping. The habitat is warm enough with various temps, it’s humid and a more dry side…. What’s happening

It is most likely a respiratory problem of some sort. Perhaps dust is getting in the nostrils and drying them out.

Don’t suppose you’d mind giving some housing info? Not all these questions are necessarily related to the current issue, but it’s always good to get an overall picture and I could see any info in your previous posts

What are your temperatures like all over? Ie basking temp(directly under the bulb), overall day temps(middle and cooler side), night temps?
What kind of basking bulb is being used specifically? Packaging photos are good if you have any
Do you use indoor uv? If so what kind?
How’s humidity?
What’s his substrate?
What’s his diet like with you?
