Hello
Im new to the board and love it already

So my question is can i use corn silage.
See i live by many dairy's and they have tons (litterally) of cattle food on hand and i was thinking of using it as a regular diet

Thanks,

I would advise against it, especially as a regular part of the diet. I won't even talk about the corn stalks/cobs/corn grain that makes up the silage. Instead I am going to go with the fact that more then likely the corn maybe from seeds that are bioengineered, the seeds planted in a field that usually has chemicals used on it and animal wastes from the diary may also be used which could add even more chemicals to it. Then we could move on to how it is harvested and stored.

No...besides what Jacqui has said, corn shouldn't be a major portion of a tortoise's diet.

and cows have four stomachs and can eat that old stuff.. your tortoise is not a cow...
Im sure if you live near a dairy, you also have lots of weeds and grasses.
What kind of tortoise?

Had I inexpensive and easy access to it, I would use it for my adults.
