Hi everyone!
How long does your turtle sleeps everyday? My new bought one is about 6 months old and he sleeps like 20 hours a day. He faces to the corner area and sleeps all the time. Is is normal?

Your baby needs a couple of hiding places, maybe a plant or two and some sight barriers in his enclosure. Baby tortoises are prey and they are afraid if they are kept in a wide open space. They need things to shelter under in order to feel safe. Having said all that, baby tortoises do sleep a lot. He'll be more active as he gets bigger.

What type of heating and lighting are you using, and what are your four temps? Warm side, cool side, basking area and overnight low? Does he live alone?

Thanks for the reply Tom. I am currently using Mega-Ray UV Vapor Bulb - 70 Watts. Average temperature is around 27 - 30 celsius. Humidity is 65-70. He lives alone, but I am planning to get another leopard tortoise this week. Is my tortoise sick?

I would not add another one until you sort out what is going on with this one.

If you keep them completely separate and observe proper quarantine it should be okay.

27-30 is good for ambient and night, but they still need a basking area around 37.
