3 of my turtles hibernated this past year as usual. But they seem a bit on the thin side. i got a bunch of wax worms and put them down for the turtles. I normally would not feed such a fatty food, but i feel the need to put some good weight on my boxies before next winter. They love them, probably like i like cake. made me feel good to see them eating. They do get a varied diet, and it does include fruits and veg and well as protein. But i might continue f=giving wax worms as a snack.

I ordered some wax worms just the other day for my box turtles. I've never offered them before, mainly feeding fruit and veg with the occasional cooked chicken egg or Wellness brand venison dog food. I have a lot of box turtles, so it gets expensive to buy worms for them.
