Hi I purchased a radiated tortoise not too long ago. She/he was born in late 2012 and is no more than 4 inches. Is this normal?ImageUploadedByTortForum1395280877.499268.jpg

Sorry I can't help you with if that's a normal size for the age, but it's a beautiful smooth tort, so your doing something right.

Depends on the bloodline, some are faster then others. With the hard winter this year growth has been slow should see a spike up in size over summer. I have many very different bloodlines myself and some can reach 4" in a year and others lucky to reach 3". Some bloodlines grow much higher dome others grow more oval and wide. There can also be very big differences in adult sizes too! Nothing to worry about.

They all grow differently. But you do have a very nice looking Radiated tortoise.
