This is Numa, one of my Red-foot herd, and a quasi-rescue from a Big Box pet store with the pyramiding already happening.

On another thread, someone commented they like mottling, so...

Madkins007 coined it "mottling" others "marbling" is there a correct term?
This is the most I have ever seen in a RF. It is outstanding. Funny it almost looks as if her pattern in that area is breaking up like a leos. Turtle the RF has just a trace of it on her shell.

I love the picture Nerd (isn't it?) has for his advatar of one with so much. Just don't really look like RFs with a lot of it, do they? :D

I've seen it called marbling, mottling, etc. Different groups of people seem to prefer different terms- perhaps it is even regional?

So- here is my thought for the Official Terminology That No One Else Will Ever Adopt:
- Spotted- small white dots or the beginnings of lines between scutes
- Mottled- white between each scute, but less than 50% of scute is white
- Marbled- 50% or a little more of each scute is white
- Ringed?- Mostly white with black rings around aureola

Your are starting to sound like a horse person. Whatever you call it, I think it's very appealing.
