I am new to the red foot world. I know they like to soak. How much time do they spend just wallowing in their water dish? My little cherryhead will spend hours sitting in her dish. She seems as happy as punch. Note: She does have a humid hide, is on cypress, and her enclosure does get misted several times a day, so I do not think humidity is an issue.

Has anyone attempted to make their tortoises a mud bath? How do you do it indoors? What do you use?

Thank you

the best growth and marbling I ever had was after my tortoise was covered in mud during the summer. Not sure how I'd do it inside..

I've never done it myself but you could bury Tupperware into your substrate, fill it with substrate and then fill it with water until you get a muddy consistency... just a thought
