Just curious, what temperature should the water be when soaking Russian Tortoise? Does it matter if it's done earlier in the day when she'll go back in a warm enclosure or later in the evening when her enclosure is cooler?

Shoot for 85-95 F.

It doesn't really matter the time of day you soak. What ever is most convenient for you!

I normally soak in the morning, simply to wake my RT up / get him ready to eat.

Ok! Thanks. I will probably go for evening soak since I work during the day most days. I'd like to keep her on a consistent schedule.

I soak first thing in the a.m., while I'm getting the tortoises' food ready. Then when I put the food out, I get the tortoise (s) and place them in front of the food. Then I get on with the rest of my day.

My hatchling knows when she gets soaked that I'm refreshing her food dish. Afterwards, she darts to the food and eats.
