Local shelter had this flyer posted that I'm sharing. Can't seem to post images here but the flyer says:

Desert Tortoises are hibernating, but the CA Turtle & Tortoise Club, Valley Chapter, will be accepting and processing adoption applications throughout the winter. I should say I don't personally know anything about the group, but wanted to pass this along in case anyone might be interested. One day, once my yard becomes "dog free" I plan on getting a rescue CDT...

I seen a news special about the Arizona desert tortoise needing homes. They have hundreds in a rescue group that they need to re-home.
These are two reasons they should let them be rehomed out of state.
They should also rehab them to go back into the wild.
