[split] humid hide question

I have a question regarding creating a humid hide. I'm worried about putting moist sphagnum moss inside my 8-month old marginated tortoise's covered side of the enclosure, as so many people say to not let it get cold and damp. But how cool is too cold? The covered side is only around 70 degrees, so is this too cool to keep in moist?

I don't like the babies to be cooler than about 75F degrees. It wouldn't be harmful to be even warmer than that.
