Some members grow plants/grass in trays so that after demolition a new tray can be swapped in easily.
I'm useless at growing things I either water too much or not enough!!

Yep, what she said! ^^ I grow some in a bin as well as in their enclosure.

I think it's great that you're growing stuff for your tortoise!

That's a great idea too. I tried using tomato bag trays but failed miserably don't think they were deep enough - but could just have been my poor gardening skills. Honestly - how hard can it be to grow weeds which usually grow anywhere in poor soil!!? I'm as bad a gardener as I am a cook!

It's fun for me too. I used to live on a sustainable garden community on Hawaii, so gardening, well, planting seeds and watching them grow then get eaten is kinda meditative for me.
