Substrate questions

Hi guys new to this, just wondering if somebody can help with complete beginner, got a tortoise table custome made, but don't know what to fill it with bar water bowl, do I use wood chip to fill it or something else ?? Please can somebody help ? x

Welcome. Could we see a pic of it? What do you have for it now? Also which species do you have or are you looking into getting? Mulch(cypress, eucalyptus, hardwood, and orchid) are all good choices. Coco coir is great too, can get that at pet stores. But need to know which species you plan, and or already have to accommodate the proper substrate, lights, and temperature/humidity requirements.
