sulcata breeding

i have a female sulcata about 16".and i want to try to breed her. which is better for his male between the same size or maybe 4" larger than her? thanks

I would hold off till she is 18 inches. Less chance of complications and health problems. A male slightly larger will be more efficient and then they can be separated sooner. I would put them together for about a week or less. then keep them separated in their own enclosures. Where do you live?

I agree with motero. They normally are not mature until at least 17" and I prefer to let them grow larger before turning them into egg factories.

Why do you want to breed? You know each female can produce 100 babes a year? What will you do with 100 babies? Have you got the contacts to move that kind of inventory? Do you know how much work that is, starting 100 babies? You know the adults will need separate enclosures and can't live together, right? A male will harass a lone female to death.

If she is 16" now, you ought to wait at least two more years, and feed her up good in that time.

i'm from indonesia..i gueas i will wait for the female to the right size before adding the male then..thanks for the replies..really appreciate it
