Hi,
My Sulcata has been grown pretty quickly recently and between his scutes where the new growth is there’s 2 lighter bits which seem softer than his shell and he didn’t like it when I touched them. Should I be concerned? Can anyone tell me what this is?

I don't THINK it's anything to worry about. It just looks like something has interrupted the growth in that area. It should be ok, but keep an eye on it for changes.

That is pretty normal. Review your bulb types. No MVBs or halogens. Make sure you have a regular incandescent flood bulb for basking.

Check the temperature directly under your basking bulb by laying a digital thermometer at tortoise shell height and letting it cook for an hour or more. Should be around 95 to 100 after all that time. Adjust the bulb height if not.

Forgot to say thank you both! Appreciate your advice and knowledge. I’ve got flood light basking bulb, no mvb or halogen and prot5 uvb long bulb. Ceramic for maintaining heat levels. I’ve checked all temps and they’re fine. Think I’m just being too over cautious as he’s had a not great start in life, I need to stop stressing so much!
