Now that it's summer, I've switched from warm, 15-minute morning soaks to tepid late afternoon soaks. I place the torts' tub in the sun with a piece of plywood covering 90% of the top.

I've noticed my torts want to stay in a lot longer now than they did for the morning soaks, and they often fall asleep in there. Before they would start scrambling to get out after 5 minutes. Now they're still dozing after 20.

Does their appearing to like soaks better have to do with the temperature change, time of day, getting used to them, something else? Anybody else change their soaking routine with the seasons?

Could be any or all of the above.

It certainly won't hurt them to have longer soaks if they want them, so whatever floats their boats :)

Seasonally, I've found that my tort likes longer baths in the winter when it's colder in my house. But there are plenty of other factors!
