Okay, so the past couple months I've been planning to build my own enclosure for my 5 month baby Leopard tort. My friend and I wish to start building these enclosures professionally, sadly the only thing we cannot agree upon is what is more suitable for tortoises, a table, or enclosure. He's a strong believer in tables being the best suit, but I've read they are horrible because they let too much heat and UV escape, but ideal to allow airflow. I myself came up with the thought of building an enclosure with built in ventilation to allow air flow, and still trap UV's and heat needed for my tort to thrive. At least until he outgrows such an enclosure, but that won't happen for a while. Any thought or suggestions?

It depends on the species you want to build for. Leopards, sulcata and Redfoot, probably a few more would do better in a closed enclosure. Others, such as a Russian would do fine in a table. Build an enclosure with a removable top for the table species. In fact, a removeable top that could be a second floor for a table with a small adjustment of some kind would be great
