Yeah to me it just looks like some poop/dirt build up, the bumpiness is just his scales I believeThat looks like staining of the skin to me

So I should just gently brush it or leave it?Yeah to me it just looks like some poop/dirt build up, the bumpiness is just his scales I believe![]()
If he will let you brush it you can. But most likely he will retract his legs and fight you on it.So I should just gently brush it or leave it?
Yep, it would be impossible to do on mine...If he will let you brush it you can. But most likely he will retract his legs and fight you on it.
You can give it a go but I wouldn’t stress too much about it if he doesn't let youSo I should just gently brush it or leave it?
Ok. Thanks! You can give it a go but I wouldn’t stress too much about it if he doesn't let you

He looks to have the odd old chip/scuff here n there, which is usual with wild caught(which he appears to be) other than that, looks ok in the photosis his shell healthy? I just wanna know so I have a basis to compare to in the future

I did go away for a day and a half and only had someone to feed him. So could this have been that I couldn’t soak him for two and a half days? I soaked him today and yesterday to make sure. I could send another pic if u wantSome areas do look a bit dry, which could be the lamp, hard to say, but it can happen with harsher bulbs, hence floodlights and t5 uv are a more optimal choice![]()
I don’t think missing a few days soak would cause the dryness, it’s more likely if the lamps too harm, which some mvb can be. It doesn’t look too bad thoughI did go away for a day and a half and only had someone to feed him. So could this have been that I couldn’t soak him for two and a half days? To me, it just looks like old scrapes which is typical of wild caught, the one in the middle perhaps slightly newer, but I don’t see anything of concern personallyAre these marks bad or just wear and tear from a wild caught Russian?View attachment 380646
FINAL THING. Tank has been eating but not as much, maybe only half of his food. He also doesn’t eat when I try to add kale to his diet. Should I be concerned? To me, it just looks like old scrapes which is typical of wild caught, the one in the middle perhaps slightly newer, but I don’t see anything of concern personally![]()
Did you make some changes based on previous advice? Sometimes that can throw them even when it’s a positive change.FINAL THING. Tank has been eating but not as much, maybe only half of his food. He also doesn’t eat when I try to add kale to his diet. Should I be concerned?
I did start adding more to his diet and used the link to make sure it’s all safe. Thanks again!Did you make some changes based on previous advice? Sometimes that can throw them even when it’s a positive change.
A lot of Russians seem to have lower appetites at the moment despite being heated and well lit, some say it’s possible they sense the seasonal change, I imagine that more likely in wild caught.
I wouldn’t worry too much if he doesn’t take to kale, I’d only offer that twice a week tops anyway![]()
Yeah it’s probably just him adjusting to some of the new foodsI did start adding more to his diet and used the link to make sure it’s all safe. Thanks again!
I figured it out I think. He didn’t have enough room under his hide and dinked his shell abit. I moved some dirt out so he had more room, hopefully it doesn’t happen again. Should I do anything to help or is he fine?Yeah it’s probably just him adjusting to some of the new foodsno problem!
Ah that’s good you figured it out! was probably just scraping his shell slightly, I wouldn’t worry about it at all, he’ll be fineI figured it out I think.
