Taro

My wife bought Taro root at the store. Its currently planted in a planter box in my Russian enclosure, is it safe for torts to eat?
The search function doesn't seem to work well on my phone or id would have looked it up

From what I've read, it's considered toxic to Russians.

Hi Murray:

Taro is part of the Manouria diet, but its on most of the toxic lists. I think some types of tortoises might be able to handle it, like the ones from rain forest type habitats, but I wouldn't give it to grassland type tortoises.

Maybe Paul (onarock) might have some words of wisdom about it, as it comes from Hawaii, I think.
