Temp gun

I have a temp gun to check temperatures inside my enclosure but when i take the temp of my tort when basking or when shes not what should it say ? Like whats to hot and whats to cold when taking the temp of there shell

Temperature gun is not only for your tortoise but for all the spots around enclosure - basking spot substrate, cold zone, under the hides. This way you can understand if the heating is sufficient Using it on tortoise shell makes sense if you concerned about basking lamp being too intense, for example, or to check if your tortoise is freezing or overheartng in the outside pen.

What kind of tortoise do you have? I can point you to the posts on the forum, where recommended temperature ranges are specified.
