Would just like to get a few answers here and see what the majority is... (out of curiosity and for advice for my own Leo)

What is the coolest temp in your leopard indoor enclosure? Mine is 24oC/75F - is this too low? this is the night time temp.

My lowest day temp is 27oC. I like to create a day and night temp cycle, is this correct?

Please and thanks :D

Your temps should not be lower then 80 and that's with 80% humidity. Now if your leopard is older than two, then the humidity can be lower also the temps. Read Toms threads below in my post. The proper way to raise a smooth healthy leopard. The sulcata threads also pertain to leopards.

I dont own a leopard but, my understanding is they are raised similar to sulcatas. Your temps and humidity need to be increased 100 basking, 90 warm, 80 cool, humidity, 80%

I say it depends on the age of your tortoise as well as the humidity of its environment. For any young tortoise...say less than three months....I would not recommend the temperature lows go below 80 regardless of the humidity level. I've kept tortoises that young in colder conditions, and I recommend sticking with the 80 threshold because I have observed increase activity levels and appetite keeping them warmer around the clock.

If the tortoise is older and bigger, 75 is a good low temperature. I have a few 4 inch tortoises that sleep on the bottom shelf of my tortoise rack without any night time heat. The temps often get into the upper 60's, and I have no issues to report. The adults outside are exposed to lows in the 50's, and even 40's some nights.

Yes, sorry, I always assume its a young one, hatchling to a few months. As Neal said, older ones can take the lower temps. As long as they have a place to go and warm up.

I didnt realise temps depended on age and size - you learn something new every day! Mine is 17 months and 5 inches long. I have read all of the raising leopards and sulcata threads. The humidity varies on when I have soaked the substrate - so it goes from 80% to 50% within a couple of days and then I soak the substrate again, so on so forth...

Just wanted to see if there was a variety in low temps that people keep their torts. But it seems for young ones it shouldn't go below 80. Ive seen this a few times now. So according to Millys age and size I think im doing the right thing with 24oC at night and 27oC in the day. Basking spot is always 35-40oC

As the tortoise grows and becomes older, it will be able to tolerate a broader temperature range. The temperatures I indicated above are simply what I have observed to work well.

I think your 5 inch tortoise should be able to tolerate temps in the mid or low 70's quite well.

I also agree with neal. He is the one to talk to about leopards. He is the one with the experience...

My night time temperatures are 80 in the far corners of the tank, higher in the middle under the CHE.

My day time basking is 105-110

Daytime cool end is 81-83

My leopard is still considered a hatchling at 10months old and 4".

My Twin Enclosure keeps an Ambiant temp of 82* but there is a cool spot in both sections that has a ground temp of 70* and I've seen both sleep in that area a few times. My enclosure is big enough to have a large variety of ground temps rangeing from 70* in the cool corner to about 120* directly under the 100w MVB used for basking
