Well, at least she didn't drill a hole on the edge of the shell to tie them up. In my opinion, tethering a turtle or tortoise is extreme animal cruelty. But some people are ignorant.
i guess i put a $100 bill in my pond this year already... no body wants them.. hard to place and they were free..
but these look good.. do they eventually stop growing?
Laura, I believe that they typically top out at around 11-14 inches... they are beautiful.... I wish I had a pond set up (my girls are still small so they stay inside with some outside sun time a few times a week). I know I will eventually have to do a pond....just can't do it right now
They must not think they're doing anything wrong since she wants to check out their new home. I can't believe they don't get tangled up every five minutes, especially if they have any access to water (swimming), which I doubt.
They are each 12" long
they currently live in a tank about 85 gallon tank with a 150 gallon an hour filter
But even with that filter the tank is murky by weeks end
They were tied out while the tank was being cleaned
they are friendly totowards people during feeding time and can be picked up otherwise but not overly people friendly
Ok so that is the info sent to me from the owner in reply to my inquiry..hopefully someone here will pick em up
