This might be a stupid question, but here we go....

I have this Arcadia Solar Basking Floodlight in 100w and I am trying to get a spare. The problem is that none of the Finnish stores have the exact one I currently have in stock. Most of them sell this ARCADIA - BASKING SOLAR 100W (FLOOD), and I wonder if it is just the same product in different packaging or whether it is some kind of old version (not as good?). I haven't been able to find bulbs with the exact same packaging as the ones sold in this Finnish store and just want to check it is fine lol

The first photo is the one I have, but isn't in stock anywhere and the second photo is of the lamp that is in stock (I know the photo is different wattage than the one I am getting).

I think yes, it's the same. You can check the part numbers RARxxxxx - I think they are the same.

They have added a disclaimer on site:

It seems they don't want to follow ZooMed fate (who have to recall all their incandescent lamps from stores and stop production because their lamps were qualified as "household use" by US energy commision).

Well, I guess I will have to figure that our after ordering. There isn't any other info on the web store besides the photo.

I think household incandescent lamps were banned in the EU in 2012 I think and halogens in 2018, both beacause LEDs are more economical. T8 and T5 tubes were banned in late 2023 because they contain mercury. Products meant for pets can still be sold, but I think that they can't be manufactured here in the EU. This all causes problems in availability and that is why I would always like to have a spare.

Now all the products with the current Arcadia packaging are sold out and only spot bulbs are available in my city. I didn't foresee availability being this big of an issue before getting a tortoise. The more you know...

Availability of Arcadia ProT5, I'm afraid is because of them switching to new Lumenize series (double the price and glitchy app).

I understand the tubes better here in the EU. But as you said, with halogens and incandescents, people don't use them anyway.

Here they both rank up at about 100€ or about 110$....

ProT5 kit was around 70-90EUR, while Lumenize were around 120-140EUR for 24W kit a month or two ago. Perhaps, they are adjusting the price tags after launch, which is a good thing. Hopefully the lamps are compatible between fixtures (probably, they are).

Checked their catalogue - they offer different fixtures, but T5 lamps are the same. No reasons to worry
