Dwight @ Zoo Atlanta wrote me to say that the K. erosa were available from Jay and he was looking forward to receiving a pair.. and suggested I contact him about getting a couple females.

This morning FedEx stopped and handed me this -

I signed for it and took it into the building and opened the box.. took the top panel of insulation off.. and saw this -

I heard something moving around so I took the paper out and saw these "squirming" around! -

Can you believe they were closed with pull-ties?! -

I took the first out [ set the insulation back on the box ] and cut the tie off.. set it down on the insulation and opened the bag and peeked in. She was peeking out at me! -

At least 18 hours in the box and she was looking out when I opened the bag..... ( more on her later ).

The second bag was moving all around.. so I figured I better get to her. Same thing.. only she came out when I opened the bag!

The now 'unused' nest box was the perfect situation for them - half filled with leaves and covered.. and the other half with 14" flared plastic flower pot bottom to drink from/soak in and a plate to eat from.

8 1/2+" SCL female K. erosa -

I set her into the soak and she came out and went after the banana -

15 minutes "OUT-OF-THE-BOX"... and she's eating banana! -

You haven't seen the other one yet.. I'll get to her soon!

Jay went above and beyond.. to get me these two beauties! I mean he called and we talked and he actually had FedEx send me an audio message telling about schedules and tracking number!

Jay is.. DA MAN -

I agree Terry. Jay is the man! I'm expecting a few things from him this week. Those erosa are awsome huh? A friend of mine recieved some from him and they were eating bananas minutes after being unpacked as well.

Very nice Terry! Thanks for sharing!

If Arizona wasn't so hot and dry, I wouldn't mind trying to work with them.

Hope you the best with them and keep the pics coming

THANKS ALL!!!
Minutes "out-of-the-box" -

The smaller on the left I've not seen eat yet but she was out in the water disn next day.. so she's moving around. And all of the banana was gone the next morning also!

'gummy' --- they DO NOT like "hot and dry" for sure.

Since I've found new homes for several of my Northern redfoots I have more space to concentrate more on these beasts from the "swamp-forests" of West Africa. "New" happenings in the near future for these soon!

You know I'm pleased...
