This might be a stupid question but,,about how long after breeding can you expect egg laying to begin. My redfoots started breeding in earnest last week. Hoping to see some nesting.

Usually within 6 weeks, BUT mounting is not breeding. They can mount for years, but never actually breed. Are the females large and mature enough?

My SA leoparads were mounting at 1.5 years old. Now, at 4 years old, I still don't feel the females are large enough to be bred. Like wise, my stars are now mounting at two years old. Not breeding though.

The ones that are breeding are adults. I did get nosy and up close so I'm pretty sure he was "successful". Doesn't matter either way, already have 11 in my herd (8 Redfoot, 1 yellowfoot female, and two young Burmese browns), I think I'm full!
